Biji vs CodexBar: which AI usage tracker is right for you?
Biji and CodexBar are both Mac tools for understanding AI coding usage, but they answer different questions. Biji shows the tokens you consumed over time and lets you share that activity. CodexBar keeps your remaining limits, credits, and reset windows visible.
The short answer
Choose Biji if you want a private activity history across Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor, plus an optional public web widget.
Choose CodexBar if you mainly need to know how much quota remains, when provider windows reset, or what you have spent across a broad set of providers.
The tools can also complement each other: one looks backward at activity and progress; the other looks forward at limits and availability.

Why Biji exists
Usage limits tell you whether you can keep working. Biji was made to show the work itself: how your activity changes across days, which AI coding tools contribute to it, and the small steps that add up over time. “Biji” means “one step” in Georgian.
Biji automatically detects supported sources, calculates the views locally, and gives you control over whether aggregate activity becomes public. It is deliberately narrower than a multi-provider quota monitor.
A note on privacy
Biji never uploads prompts, responses, source code, file paths, project names, or session content. When you enable sharing, only daily aggregate token counters are synced. Read the complete Biji privacy explanation.
